Eugene, Gaze and S — the Table for Three family

You know that feeling.

You want to go out for dinner. Simple, right?

Except then comes the 20 minutes of Googling. The TripAdvisor reviews that mention "great ambiance" but say nothing about highchairs. The Yelp page reviewed entirely by people without toddlers. The Instagram posts with beautiful food and zero practical information.

So you either stay home. Or you show up unprepared and spend the whole dinner stressed.

We've been there too many times.

Hi. We're Eugene, Gaze and S.

A family of three living and eating our way through Vancouver Island. S is our toddler, our most honest food critic, our chaos coordinator, and the reason we started checking highchair availability before we check the menu.

This is the guide we wished existed when we started going out as a family. So we built it.

Table for Three is Vancouver Island's only toddler tested, honestly reviewed family dining and experience guide.

Our scorecard

Every listing is rated against our scorecard, the things that actually matter when you have young children:

  • Access — Can you get in without a ten point turn with your stroller?
  • Vibe — Is this place actually welcoming or will one crayon drop get you a death stare?
  • Facilities — Highchair, changing table, kids menu. The real details.
  • Chaos Tolerance — Because some places embrace toddler dining and some really don't.
  • Wind Down Spot — Every good outing needs a plan B.

A few things we want you to know

  • We never accept payment for positive reviews.
  • Verified means we personally visited.
  • Community Reported means a fellow Vancouver Island parent contributed it.

We're parents first. Reviewers second.
