Our review
Walking around the neighborhood, we were in the mood for something warm and comforting, so we finally decided to try Fresh Tandoori Flavour in Oak Bay. We’ve been to their other branches before, but funny enough, never the one closest to us, so this felt overdue.
We went for chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, naan, rice, raita, and mango lassi.
The place had a relaxed, easy feel to it. Plenty of space for the stroller, which always makes things smoother when you’ve got a toddler in tow, and the setup felt family-friendly without being chaotic.
S did her usual mix of eating a bit, exploring a bit, and deciding mid-meal that sitting still is optional. One of those dinners where food gets shared and the table slowly turns into a small playground between bites.
Service was steady even with a mix of takeout and dine-in going on. Nothing rushed, just consistent.
ꕤ Table for Three Scorecard ꕤ
🚪 ENTRY: Ground-level entry with a wide manual door. Very easy to navigate from the Oak Bay Ave sidewalk.
🤍 SPACE: Remarkably spacious for the neighborhood! Plenty of room to keep the stroller right at the table without blocking the flow.
🪑 SEATING: High chairs are available. The booths are deep and comfortable if you prefer to sit the toddler beside you.
🚼 ESSENTIALS: We didn’t get to check the restroom setup this time, if you’ve been and know the diaper change situation, let us know in the comments!
🦖 CHAOS VIBE: 4/5. The casual dinner energy is great for families. It’s loud enough to mask toddler chatter but quiet enough for a conversation.
🌳 PANIC EXIT: 2 minutes from the Oak Bay Library, perfect for a post-dinner run-around
A good go-to when you don’t want to cook (or wash dishes) but still want a flavour-packed meal. ᵕ̈
